Ruby on Rails is a web application framework made to help you easily develop a fully functional web application. It is widely used in the web development community by both major corporations and startups. Popular websites built on rails include Twitter, Github and Airbnb to name a few.
During this course, students will be taken through the various steps of creating a full-fledged Web Application as well as learning how to write database-backed Web Applications using the Ruby on Rails Framework. This will give them the tools to start developing their own applications.

Topics include:
MVC paradigm
Object relational mapping
Fill in forms
Validation techniques
and various other Rails topics.

Have Ubuntu setup on your laptop.
Quick look at ruby (it’s a very easy language, shouldn’t take much time) .
Bring your laptop with you.

Instructor biography:
Eng. Tarek is a CSED 4th year student. His past experience with RoR includes interning at Amazon Web Services summer 2015 and BadrIt summer 2014, where he was working with RoR based tools in both internships.
