One of the main challenges that face any undergraduate student is how to improve his technical skills, and how to gain the needed practical experience he does not acquire during his studies.
IEEE AlexSB in cooperation with Solid N Void – a well-known construction company in the United States of America – launched an internship program in U.S.A for Alexandria University undergraduate students. On the 27th of November, the branch hosted Mr.Amin Abdel-kader, the founder and CEO of SNV, in an orientation session about the program.
Mr.Amin Abdel-kader talked about the latest technologies that his company developed in the construction industry. He illustrated the main advantages of using Insulated Concrete Forms (ICF) in building residential, commercial and industrial buildings. He then announced that there are 6 vacancies available in the 6-weeks internship program, which will be divided in respective order into one week in class and five weeks onsite with all of the accommodation, food and transportation expenses being covered by the company for all the selected students.
“The selection of the interns will not be through an ordinary interview” said Mr. Amin, explaining the details of selection process of the applicants, which was carefully designed to ensure that the chosen candidates are well suited for this program, and that they will get the best out of it as well.
